Destination and business networks and collaborationI've often managed to work with disparate partners to find solutions to problems, or helped people move out of their comfort zone into new areas. Clients who've felt stuck in a groove have benefited from a new approach.
Peace talks: Sometimes you need to bring people together to work through important issues, for consultation or to referee opposing views. I love doing this! Work includes chairing board meetings, often when they need to make big changes or find ways to solve disputes. Quicker, cheaper solutions: Instead of commissioning laborious and expensive tourism development or marketing strategies, why not think about organising a brainstorming session instead? I prepare well, bring people together, use their collective creative energy, throw in my own ideas and and then go away to write a strategic ACTION plan. This approach is just as strategic as a longer strategy but it's quicker, less expensive, much more practical and very easy to implement. Teasing out the best ideas: I facilitate many consultation workshops, using a variety of techniques to tease out ideas from the shy and retiring as well as keeping the "big mouths" happy! I can do this for organisations ranging from local tourism partnerships, local authorities, regional development agencies and national tourist boards.
